Nelson's Footwear

I've visited this wonderful traditional cobblers' shop for around 40 years. It is fantastic to have such skilled craftspeople working locally. I understand that the Nelson family have run the same shop since around 1840. The service is always excellent friendly and prompt. Recently got some Walsh's gym / running shoes resoled for 20 pounds. A new pair would have cost160 pounds! Need I say more. We are blessed to have this shop in Settle!

A lovely business which makes buying shoes an experience rather than just a purchase. My wife and I visited in July 2023. She has an injured foot from a bad car accident as a child, and for the first time in her life got shoes which actually fitted correctly. They made her shoes in just two days, and they fit like a glove. Just £80 per pair, and they wouldn't accept a penny until she'd seen them and said she was happy with them. Fantastic value for a perfect pair of shoes. I'd recommend anyone to pop in to Nelson's and give them a try. You can't go wrong.

A gem of a shop. Daniel is a craftsman. We took into him walking boots that had been very well used. They were in a very bad way, the soles had been glued several times (as a temp/emergency fix) when we collected them we were amazed, absolutely fantastic job, the man is amazing. They can now continue to be worn and enjoyed. Thank you Daniel.

I love traditional places like this, so I popped in just to be nosey. The lady showed us around and explained how the shoes are made, and explained the different types of shoes they have made for films and TV productions, could have stayed and chatted for ages. Thank you 😊

Daniel showed traditional bespoke leather shoes handmade in their workshop to designs dating back to the 1700s. They also have a good range of shoes and sandals made to measure in their workshop.
