Welcome to Yorkshire

|Rock legends Def Leppard have revealed plans for a huge UK and European tour in summer 2026 – and at the heart of it all is a long-awaited return to their Yorkshire roots. The Sheffield-born band will play a major headline show at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Tuesday 30th June 2026, marking a proud homecoming for one of the city’s most famous exports.
Sheffield’s Rock Icons Return Home

Formed in Sheffield in 1977, Def Leppard went from local pubs and clubs to becoming one of the world’s best-selling rock bands, selling over 110 million albums and creating era-defining records such as Hysteria and Pyromania. Their success has helped put Sheffield firmly on the global music map – and every homecoming concert becomes a celebration for the city, drawing fans from across the UK and beyond.
The hometown gig in 2026 is set to be one of the biggest nights of live music in Yorkshire next summer, with fans expected to travel from across the county and overseas to be part of the occasion. With their only other Yorkshire date confirmed for Leeds in February 2026 at the Glee Club (a much smaller venue), the Sheffield arena show will be the standout local highlight of the tour.
What the Band Are Saying
Frontman Joe Elliott said:
“We’re looking forward to playing Radio 2 in the Park in Chelmsford this week…our only UK date of 2025. But we’re also very buzzed to announce our UK and Euro dates in 2026! Playing to our home crowd and our fans in Europe is very important to us, and we’ll be bringing a brand new show that will feature some surprises as well as the classics! See you soon!!”
Guitarist Phil Collen added:
“It’s a dream to be coming back to the UK and Europe in June and July next year. And to be coming back with our good friends, Extreme, is a bonus. It’s going to be an incredible night for all the fans!”
Impact on Yorkshire’s Visitor Economy
Large-scale concerts like Def Leppard’s Sheffield homecoming provide a significant boost for the visitor economy, with thousands of ticket-holders booking hotels, eating out in local restaurants, and spending in city centre shops. Sheffield City Council has already highlighted the economic importance of live events to the city, and Def Leppard’s international pull will ensure a wave of visitors travelling into Yorkshire for the show.
The tour also comes at a time when Yorkshire’s wider live music scene continues to thrive – from global acts at Scarborough Open Air Theatre to grass-roots venues supporting emerging talent. Def Leppard’s return underlines the region’s ongoing importance as a destination for major cultural and music tourism.
