If you get into Sheffield Train Station after 9pm, everything food and drink related in the station is closing. This Spar shop is a two minute walk outside, accessible either by stairs or the slope up to the traffic lights (after an all day hike, this can be important!) It isn't a supermarket, so won't have everything you can imagine, but if you need a cheap (compared to train station prices) sandwich, a snack, a chocolate bar, a drink, the basics etc, you'll find it here, and be able to dash back to the train station in time for your connection. Staff have always been polite with me
I’ve been to this store a couple of times because it was closer to my accommodation. Although I am quite amazed by how the management here has managed to hire staff which is downright racist. I mean it’s horrible to even visit the store where the staff is rude and racist and more interested in teaching manners rather than sales where as nobody goes in and misbehaves with anyone for them to learn any manners. A British guy with specs is always disinterested in people and perpetually racist towards people for not saying please. He has refused my friends to bill the items for not saying please. He has passed racist comments towards me and my friends for no apparent reason. No wonder it has 2.2 rating. Would not recommend at all. An absolute circus.
Staff are very friendly and are pleasant to talk to. however there are a few issues with the place: -Everything seems to be horrifically overprices, sometimes more so than places like M&S. £1.85 for 6 eggs. at one point even the cashier exclaimed that it would be cheaper to get them elsewhere -£1.95 for 4pints of blue milk. I've bought this when desperate a couple of times and the milk ALWAYS goes off in a day or two. I bought a few pints last night as i had run out and the milk has already started to turn. -Bread is almost £2 for a small loaf. Nice staff, horrifically overpriced for a cheap corner shop
The british guy working at the till refused to bill my items because I said “I need a receipt of bill” and did not say PLEASE to him. He said if I don’t say please he won’t bill my order and he didn’t bill the order. I had to get out of the store empty handed. This was pure humiliation for me. Action needs to be taken against him!
