Rother Valley Country Park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors, with plenty of things to do for all ages. You can walk around the lakes, cycle along the flat paths, or try something more active like paddleboarding, sailing, or using the aqua park. The trails are easy to follow and suit both casual visitors and keen cyclists, while families can enjoy the large play area near the Northern Lake. The park feels calm and open, making it a lovely spot for picnics, walks, or just relaxing by the water and watching the activities around the lakes. The park has good facilities that make your visit more comfortable. The Stables Café, set in an old 18th-century building, is a nice place to stop for drinks or snacks with lovely views of the lake. There is plenty of parking, with both paid and free options nearby, and clean toilets close to the main area. Everything is well looked after, and the park has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you come for adventure or a quiet day in nature, Rother Valley Country Park is a lovely place to spend time outdoors.
went for rotherham 10k, enjoyed the park truly, and the weather that day really help enhance the experience. the track was very flat with minimal hills and the lake being the centre of the park really help soothe the mind especially during a very rigorous activity. although, I didn’t come across or make full use of all the amenities, from what I’ve seen it a very beautiful accessible park except for some part of the pavement being filled dirt and pebbles.. but only for a short instance
Walked around Rother Valley many times over the years but 1st time for my 17 year old daughter and we really enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery and lakes to walk round, lots of activities going off when we went but not in your face, ample parking, some interesting shops, nice vibe.
Very lovely place to visit and just wander. Cafe serves hot & cold drinks and food. Very dog friendly. We only went to have a wander, however there is an activity centre, watersports area, cycles allowed, runners use the pathways. Lovely day out.
The country park is beautiful. Sadly the cafe is unbelievably banal and lacking in healthy & tasty food, plus closes early whilst the park is still active which is a massive missed opportunity, but maybe one day we can have both! All the nature on and around the water is really wonderful.
