What a wonderful reserve. Spent a beautiful day wandering the long route, and visiting all of the hides along the way. Lots of information on the wayboards, and in the hides. We'd never seen so many different dragonflies in one place before, let alone the plants and the birds. Very much recommended.

Some roads have tall grass, but the view was wonderful. Although I didn’t see something rare, red kite was still a really great hit.

So pleased to have visited this beautiful Yorkshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve with its big skies and abundant bird life. Easy pathways and a fantastic large bird hide with information and wildlife photos of the reserve. The parking is limited however.

It's beautiful walk around with or without dogs, easily accessible for elderly as well as mostly flat surface. One big downfall is no bins other then at the car park. No wonder why many dog poos and bagged up poos around paths...

Great circular route. Various distance paths are available but we took the longest which was just over 3 miles. Was lucky enough to spot a very well disguised Roe Deer. Great Reserve and we will be back.
