Just got back from staying here for two nights. The room was good. Clean and well ordered. I am a wheelchair user and found there was plenty of room for my chair without it being obstructive. It was warm and comfy in fact too warm but there was a fan. The bed was almost too comfortable and having one hard pillow and one soft pillow each is a brilliant idea. The breakfast was self service and the choice was good too. The staff were helpful and friendly and we would go back any time and recommend it to anyone.

We were greeted on arrival. The room was clean but the bed creaked and groaned as we sat on it. The mattress was really soggy like trying to sleep in a bowl. We could hear televisions all night and other guests laughing and chatting loudly. The was wash room was very good but on our second morning there was a water leak around the toilet. We didn’t have breakfast on the first morning as we were off on an early train ride. The second morning there was juice machine that stopped working the staff seemed to struggle with the mechanics and I don’t think they succeeded. I was pleased to see that there was a flask of filter coffee I am not a fan of machine coffee. However I only managed to get half a cup and it was empty. I popped over to reception and the young lady said she would refill the flask. After a quarter of an hour I asked how the coffee was coming along, only to be told there was no more ground coffee , sad she didn’t come and tell us. By now they were also having issues with the coffee machine. I next tried the pancake machine and got two tiny pancakes more like cocktail pancakes .A while later the staff were at this machine apparently it wasn’t working correctly either. My husband tried the baps and said they were tasteless. The fruit compote was gloopy with not a lot of fruit. On the plus side my husband found a banana All in all it was not a pleasurable experience not at all what we expected from a Holiday inn

We used this hotel when visiting York as its cheaper than staying in the centre and is less than a tenner for an Uber into the city. Every single member of staff were friendly & helpful, there's plenty of parking, rooms were clean and breakfast is included with gluten free options.

A neat and tidy hotel tucked slightly outside of the hubbub of central York, but close enough for a ten min drive into the city. Found the hotel quiet, clean and the best thing is plenty of free parking available. Breakfast hours are generous and check out being at 12 most helpful. Breakfast space is tight though and can get busy especially after 9 am so aim for the earlier 6.30 till 9 bracket. It is an excellent option to stay here though, as for central York, one can always drive in and park at Barbican centre parking or else find suitable alternative at Just Park.

Cancelled my booking in advance due to illness, which the hotel later confirmed in writing, yet they still took payment after the arrival date. This should never happen. When challenged, the hotel refused to correct the charge, repeatedly claimed the matter was “out of their control,” and failed to provide any terms or justification that allowed them to take payment after cancellation. Emails went in circles, responsibility was avoided, and no genuine attempt was made to resolve the issue. This is some of the worst customer service and billing behaviour I have experienced. A complete lack of transparency, accountability, or basic fairness. If something goes wrong with your booking, do not expect help — only deflection. I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before booking here.
