Went into the store on Christmas Eve at 1630. One till was open. Had one item from the bakery. Asked a customer assistant if they would be opening up a till. He shrugged his shoulders, said no, and locked the gate behind him. Didn’t have the time to wait behind 5 large trolleys. Left the item on the till and proceeded to walk out. Matt, the customer assistant, then stopped me on the way out and asked if I had paid for the item. I said I had left it by the till. Matt proceeded to be cheeky, swore at me, and asked if I had anything better to be doing on Christmas Eve. Never in my years of working in retail and shopping at local stores have I heard or been spoken to like this. Terribly rude, extremely intimidating, and completely not expected on Christmas Eve. Thankfully I am thick skinned and not an elderly resident. Management need to be aware of this individuals attitude as it’s unacceptable to be speaking to customers like this.

I would pick Aldi Thirsk anyday for their coupons and spin promotions. For some it may not mean much but for some, it makes a huge difference on family budget. Imagine coming home with fruits, vegetables and bakery treats to feed a family for a day or 2 just from coupons and spins. At a time when money is tight for ordinary people, I would advise those who can to opt in to Aldi Plus rewards program:

Never any staff. Queues down the aisles. Staff slow to respond to till opening (if they ever do) place always feels disorganized and dirty

Staff uest to be nothing but lovely! Not my experience this morning, a very rude southern woman , blonde hair with white eyeliner. Incredibly rude. Humiliated me at the checkout. A real jobsworth.

Absolutely ridiculous. Saturday afternoon, one checkout on, then after you have been waiting 10 minutes they finally open another checkout only for rude people behind you in the queue to push in front. Must have been waiting 20 minutes to get served. Get some self service checkouts!
