Not the biggest walk but views are great and the cafe is really good, reasonably priced, great food, friendly staff! Highly recommend it as a little family walk and coffee
Easy to find. Free easy parking. Easy to walk round and great for kids to have a run round and imagine what it was like. Plenty of information boards and a cafe and toilets. Litter could do with clearing. Will go again.
Nice little wander round here well maintained grounds and boards with info as well. Sadly the cafe was shut when we went after 3pm on a Saturday which was a shame. Car park gets busy . When you are done there is Pugneys Country Park just down the hill as well
Nice to discover another castle which is also free, we enjoyed our visit here today. It has good information boards as you are walking around it and is also very safe too, the well is covered up and they also have mesh around some parts of the castle. A good day out for a family, especially on a sunny day it isn't very windy either. We will definitely visit again. The only negative is the cow muck spreading smell from the farm.
An immaculate view of the sunrise here 👌 beautiful bit of history and a nice viewpoint over Wakefield and surrounding areas.
