It’s one week until Father’s Day (Sunday 18th June in the UK) and there’s still time to book a getaway in beautiful Yorkshire.
For the outdoorsy action heroes, there’s mountain biking in Dalby Forest – accommodation available at High Dalby House (includes cooked breakfast), Heron Cottage (ground floor with pizza oven) and Kingfisher Cottage (also ground floor with pizza oven). There’s also gorge walking at How Stean Gorge – lodges with hot tubs available.
For those who fancy a more sedate pace, why not cruise along the waterways, with a canal boat trip? Take in the landscape and relax – no licence required.
One of the most popular day-trips for Yorkshire locals and international visitors is Bolton Abbey. Find out more about the history, book a stay, or even plan a walk finishing at the Cavendish Pavilion (car park charges apply) for a Father’s Day lunch. If you’re visiting from abroad there are a host of private tours which take in the abbey, leaving from Harrogate and Leeds.
There are a host of great shows taking place on the Saturday night before Father’s Day – check out this selection:
- Madness at The Piece Hall, Halifax on June 17th, 2023 6:00pm
