House is great, but the grounds are very poor. Very restrictive with very few paths. You're basically walking along a single vehicular road and you're not allowed to deviate. The routes/paths don't join or do a round trip and the monuments such as the Doric Temple and Rockingham Monument are fenced off and not accessible which is pointless. Woodlands areas, other roads etc all shown as private so very little to explore. Better off visiting Canon Hall or Yorkshire Sculpture Park if you're looking for a nice walk. That being said we have supported the house on many events and visits and the house is superb.
Unbelievable fishing lakes great scenery. And a nice stroll up to the main house. But I'd walk downhill if I were you it's a bit steep walking up from the main road .lots of wild life to observe. And if you are lucky. You can view the dear in the park.at the top. Well worth a visit
Such a lovely place to walk
Let me start with the fact that the place is really beautiful. However it is not good for kids. I went there and was told i can't have a picnic by a man speeding on a quad bike. I had to stick to the footpaths apparently. So i did as i was told on my way back. I had no intention of staying there any longer and not to mention i will not be returning. I'd much rather pay small entrance fee and go to wentworth garden centre where i would be welcome and be able to see more things. I mean what sort of park doesn't allow you to have a picnic and play with your child?!? They might as well close it off to members of the public
Fantastic views especially when you get to see the π¦ Deer. Great for a free day out, free parking as well..
