The site was OK but very wet in places. The showers and toilets are clean, warm and adequate. The cafe next to the site is excellent.

We booked via caravan and motorhome club ( members only) the email was confusing and we followed the signs to the caravan park, barrier control but we didn't receive a code? Contacted owner to be told we were at the wrong area? No where to reverse so had to give us the code to drive through?( Wasn't very helpful at all). We were directed to the cl area, this was an area for 5 spaces!! Toilets and shower were quite a walk, made more difficult as my wife is disabled, the pitch contained 2 permanent residents! Check reviews B4 booking, the only highlight is bus into York outside the park, taxi is around £13 , if you want cheap and cheerful okay, otherwise look elsewhere,

A peaceful countryside retreat with a haunting charm, Willow Caravan Park is the kind of place that greets you with birdsong and rolling green fields. The setting is idyllic. For caravans and motorhomes, it’s near perfection. The pitches are well-kept, the atmosphere calm, and the location a fine base for exploring York’s historic streets and ghostly corners. We came for work purposes. If we had pitched our standard tent, we would not have fitted on the pitch without blocking the route through. For tent campers, however, be warned, the non-electric pitches are on the small side, and neighbouring electric pitches. Adding to the challenge, the lone portaloo — meant only for emergencies- stands right on the tent field, its door prone to the occasional slam and smell during this heat. The main showers and toilets are a fair walk away, a journey that becomes an eerie moonlit trek once night falls. That said, the on-site coffee shop is a delight - serving delicious food with genuinely friendly staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you step inside. Try the afternoon tea! It was delicious. We would return, but next time we’d arrive early to claim a better spot, and we would book with electricity… and perhaps keep our distance from that solitary portaloo that waits quietly in the dark. As it stands, non-electric tent camping here feels more like an afterthought - a small shadow cast across an otherwise beautiful site.

Very kind manager let us empty our chemical toilet cassette in the Elsan point free of charge. Campsite looked lovely with a charming little pond for ducks and a black swan. Would recommend.

staying on the CAMC area nice a quiet. New showers and toilets open nice and clean. Great location to get in to York bus stop just at the end if the drive. Cafe on site but haven't tried it looks nice. Could only find 1 sink for pot washing
