We hired the upstairs room for a private function. The room size was ideal, we were given access to the room to decorate and prepare, so that was great!. The hot and cold buffet was excellent, so huge thumbs up for that. Also the bar person we had working upstairs was lovely and helpful throughout the evening. Ultimately though, the evening was spoilt at the end by the (Senior) bar person asking us to leave early, contrary to end of night timing information we'd received on prior email from the general manager. When I queried the early nature of the request to leave, and mentioned the prior information we'd had, it was met with an argumentative response, and a sarcastic suggestion by her that we were making a big deal of it! - Absolutely horrendous customer service. I think we will be avoiding Victor J's from now on, which is actually a shame as the bar itself is a lovely place.

We have been coming to Victor Js since 2021, friends of 4 with a dog as was told and always felt welcomed as a friendly dog atmosphere until this evening when we were told to leave as was too busy for dogs. The pub wasn't busy, we found a table for us and the dog, unfortunately not good enough for the woman in charge. She was rude patronising and clearly NOT dog friendly. Pub quieter as usual. WILL NOT BE RETURNING whilst SHE is their duly because she name snide comments like boo hoo 😢!

Previously really loved this place. - dogs accepted and we always had a great night playing jenga and connect 4 - our dog was always well behaved and sat under the table. Tonight we went in and got a table but was told it was too busy and dogs take up too much room , although he would have been under the table and we were asked to leave. The icing on the cake was the sarcastic lady behind the bar saying boohoo and pretending to have tears down her face -it was quieter than we’ve been before and the woman was just on a power trip - we won’t be going again

We were drawn into this bar by the offer of reasonably priced cocktails. Two Strawberry Daiquiris were quickly rustled up by the overworked girl behind the bar, the speed of delivery giving a clue to the lack of artistry required to make them and the minimal ingredients used, which, judging by the taste of the finished article, could have come from a laboratory working on a replacement fuel for petrol. Add to this that lots of tables were stacked with glasses, plates and half eaten meals of previous customers, again due to a seeming lack of staff, and I’m sorry to say it resulted in an experience we wouldn’t wish to repeat. If you’re looking for something to clean up some old motorcycle parts, you might find a suitable solution on the cocktail menu here.

I went with some friends, the bar staff were helpful and welcoming. Matt was very friendly and knowledgeable, would definitely recommend and we will be back again. Thank you !
