Snooker fans, book your diaries! The biggest snooker event in the UK is back and Ronnie O’Sullivan is defending his title at the UK Championship from November 23rd to December 1st at the York Barbican. Top players and tickets available, it’s going to be a great tournament.

Opening day lineup: O’Sullivan, Murphy and more

The UK Championship gets underway on Saturday, November 23rd. Ronnie O’Sullivan, fresh from his record breaking 8th UK Championship win last year, starts his bid for title number 9. He’s on at 1pm against one of the 16 players who have qualified. It’s going to be a busy crowd as O’Sullivan gets the tournament underway.

Other top players are on first day. Shaun Murphy is on the schedule, Ding Junhui and Xiao Guodong in the evening session. Sunday sees Mark Allen, the 2022 UK Champion, on at 1pm. Kyren Wilson, the World Champion, is on Monday afternoon and Judd Trump, the world number one, on Tuesday.

Qualifying rounds: A road to York

The road to York actually starts a week earlier with a qualifying event at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester. This stage runs from November 16th to 21st and features 128 players all vying for a chance to play the best in the game. Tickets for the qualifying rounds are just £12 per day so fans can get up close to the action early on.

In the qualifiers players have to win multiple matches to get to York. Lower seeds need 4 wins to qualify, higher seeds fewer. A highlight of this stage is three time UK Champion Neil Robertson who starts his qualifying on Tuesday, November 19th. Well known players like Jak Jones, Stephen Maguire, Stuart Bingham, Jack Lisowski, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh and Barry Hawkins are all in the mix so fans will be on the edge of their seats as the event unfolds.

Judgement day

Players and fans it’s the last two days of the qualifiers – November 20th and 21st – Judgement Day. These two days decide who gets the remaining spots to York and every frame is a make or break. WST will be streaming the action live and free on our Facebook and YouTube channels.

Every match in the UK Championship will be best of 11 frames, with the final extending to a best of 19 showdown.
