Brought a note to the counter, £5 sterling from Ulster bank. "Is that a foreign note" "No, it's Scottish, from Ulster bank" "We don't take Irish notes" "It's from Ulster, it's pound sterling" "Well we don't take it" "But It's legal tender" *Turns to leave and the woman behind the counter loudly exclaims "rude" Edit: it's legal currency in the UK but not legal tender in the UK so it's the same stuff, the bank will take it and it carries the same value yet there's the right to refusal at discretion on legal technicality but given that the lady can't tell the difference between the euro and pound sign I'm putting it down to incompetence. It's -1* for the inconvenience plus -3* and my custom for the insult.

The elderly gentleman behind the counter which was fixed with packing tape and his friend who stood on the customer side of said counter eating a pot noodle had the gall to complain that my shoelaces were "leaving snail trails on my floor". After a little further heckling, I paid for my overpriced produce without mention of the item of litter on the floor next to the fridges which seemed to have once been food but may have been something else as I didn't stop to inspect it further.

Whoever was on the till tonight is an absolute gem. So I'd managed to bleed over the plaster I'd had on. The guy behind the till once I'd bought the plasters opened the box for me and got the plaster out the box because I was trying to stop my finger bleeding. Honestly did not expect that! There are still some good eggs left in the world!!!

Middle aged man at the night pay counter was the rudest person I have ever met. So, congratulations on that.
