Grand Yorkshire - Day Trips and Tours

What a fabulous day with Chris! Highly recommend this tour! The day was very well planned, a small group and with his recommendations but also gaining insights from the guests, it felt like friends getting together for a vacation, even when we didn’t know the other 3 guests who joined. Perfect ‘All Creatures Great & Small’ Tour! Learned a lot about ‘James Herriott’ we got to see the museum, historic churches, farms, learn about Yorkshire & The Dales and so much more! Thank you Chris!!

We had a lovely tour in Yorkshire from early in the morning till 5,30 pm! Our guide, Pete, was very service-minded, and an expert on local history. Our first stop was Helmsley, and it was nice to visit the small and adorable town on its market´s day. We drove through several small idyllic communities. The roads were narrow and curved, sometimes steep, but Pete was a good driver who took us safely to Whitby over the Moors. It was nice to visit “Aidensfield” and the train station we have seen so many times in the series “Heartbeat”. After the Steam Train we headed back to York and made a stop at the ruins of an old ancient Monastery. Most interesting! We will strongly recommend this tour to all historic interested tourist on vacation in York.

We did the All Creatures Great & Small Yorkshire Dales Tour as well as the North York Moors & Steam Train Tour this past fall, and I can't say enough amazing things about Chris and the entire experience! It was wonderful to be in such a small, intimate group, and Chris tailored each trip to what the group preferred. We would absolutely do another tour with Grand Yorkshire if/when we return to England! We did tours with another company that was a slightly larger group, and while they were all enjoyable, our two days with Grand Yorkshire were absolutely the highlight of our trip. If you have a chance to book with them, don't hesitate!

From start to finish our tour was top-notch. Chris, our guide, knows this region inside and out and was able to share stories that we wouldn’t have heard elsewhere. His extensive knowledge of the local history as well as ecology added to the positive experience. I’ve never booked a tour of this type before but I will certainly be looking out for another opportunity to book with Grand Yorkshire when I’m in the region again.

We had a wonderful day out on the Steam train, Whitby & the moors tour. Chris was a fantastic tour guide, full of interesting facts and information. The small group made it feel more personal as if you have a private tour guide. The trip across the moors was spectacular! The views breathtaking and Chris would stop off at points where we could get out and take pictures or just take in the amazing scenery. The whole day was brilliant, topped off with the Steam Train journey! I would highly recommend this trip with Chris. Thank you for a fantastic day.
