About the FA Trophy

The FA Trophy is the knockout for clubs below the EFL: National League sides such as York City FC and FC Halifax Town, National League North sides such as Scarborough Athletic FC, and step 3–4 clubs such as Guiseley FC and Whitby Town FC. The 2025/26 FA Trophy ran from qualifying through a Wembley final. The 2026/27 campaign opens at the first qualifying round as the supplier lists it.

How the tournament works

• The FA Trophy is a knockout for clubs from the National League down through step 4. Leeds United FC and other Premier League or EFL sides are not in this hat — they play the FA Cup and the League Cup.
• Step 4 clubs, including Non League Div One - Northern East, Northern Midlands and Northern West sides, start in preliminary or first qualifying. Step 3 clubs such as Whitby Town FC join at third qualifying. National League - North clubs such as Scarborough Athletic FC join at the second round proper. National League clubs such as York City FC and FC Halifax Town join at the third round proper.
• Each round is an unseeded draw. Yorkshire clubs can be pulled against anyone still in, from Cornwall to the North East. Every supplier tie is stored; Yorkshire names are highlighted on the page.
• There is no league table. Extra time and penalties, or a replay, follow the competition’s rules for that round — this site does not invent extra legs.
