Mary Poppins 2024/2025 UK and Ireland Tour: New Venues Announced

The much-loved musical Mary Poppins is set to enchant audiences across the UK and Ireland once again as Cameron Mackintosh and Disney Theatrical Group unveil additional venues for their 2024/2025 tour.

This acclaimed production, which has captivated London’s West End with its stellar performances and unforgettable music, will now be coming to the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford next summer, as part of a wider tour that also includes stops in Bristol, Dublin, Edinburgh, Plymouth, and Manchester.

A magical return to the stage

Based on the beloved stories by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins tells the tale of the world's most famous nanny, who brings her unique brand of magic to Cherry Tree Lane. This production features iconic songs like Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and Feed the Birds, all of which have delighted generations of fans.

Alongside these timeless tunes, the show includes new music and lyrics from the award-winning British duo George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, ensuring a fresh experience for both new audiences and long-time admirers.

A star-studded creative team

The musical's success is bolstered by an impressive creative team. The original music and lyrics by the legendary Sherman Brothers, Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, are beautifully complemented by the work of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

The book is penned by Julian Fellowes, known for his work on Downton Abbey, while direction is shared by Richard Eyre and Matthew Bourne. The production also boasts orchestrations by William David Brohn, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and set and costume designs by Bob Crowley.

Alhambra Theatre: A summer spectacle

The Alhambra Theatre in Bradford will host Mary Poppins from Wednesday 21 May to Sunday 29 June 2025.
