As part of the Our Year – Wakefield District 2024 initiative, these events promise a season of cultural enrichment and entertainment for all.

Uniting Communities Through Culture and Play

Our Year – Wakefield District 2024 is a year-long celebration dedicated to fostering culture, creativity, and community connection. The series of summer events under "A Grand Day Out" is a significant highlight, providing diverse activities and entertainment designed to bring families and friends together. The Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport, Cllr Michelle Collins, emphasizes the importance of these gatherings, encouraging everyone to mark their calendars for an unforgettable summer experience.

"Our Grand Days Out are hugely popular as they are a great way to bring the seaside to our city and towns. They bring family and friends together, and there’s lots to do to entertain the kids. I’d encourage everyone to get involved and get the dates in your diary." - Cllr Michelle Collins

Activities for All Ages

Giant Sand Pit and Creative Play
