Collected a vehicle on PCP and within minutes of driving it home, it displayed a critical engine warning on the motorway instructing me to pull over immediately due to a coolant issue. Breaking down on a motorway on the day of purchase was extremely stressful and concerning from a safety perspective. The car was taken back to the dealership straight away and work was started on the vehicle without prior agreement. During the roadside attendance, it was observed that a clear liquid was poured from a container into the coolant reservoir. While I cannot comment on the substance itself, this raised concerns about process and handling of a safety-critical system. Communication throughout was inconsistent, and the situation required my partner to leave work early on two separate occasions to help manage recovery, logistics, and follow-up. A significant amount of time was spent trying to obtain updates and move the situation forward. To be fair, the dealership did acknowledge the issue and a full rollback and refund is now being processed. However, the overall experience, particularly the day-one motorway breakdown, stress caused, and disruption involved, fell well below what would reasonably be expected when purchasing a vehicle. I hope this feedback is used constructively to improve vehicle checks, communication, and aftersales handling going forward.
Large amout of stock and varieties to choose from. We were able to wander round and find what we fancied then the salesman opened the car to allow us to sit inside and size it up for us. We left a deposit and the car was ready within 4 days. The salesman was very knowledgeable about the car and very helpful completeing the sale. There was no hard sell on any of the add ons. Would certainly buy from there again.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I purchased a grey Audi A1 21plate (incase they try to flog it on message me for the full reg). Test drove fine, paid deposit, picked it up on the 20th Jan around 11.30am, parked on the hard shoulder of the M1 by 1.30pm same day. The engine light had come on, rendering it useless. I phoned the chap that sold me it, Brook. Clearly distressed and annoyed. They sent out two blokes from the service department to the hard shoulder, one of which poured liquid from an 'Adblue' container into the engine coolant reservoir. My partner with me, took a video of them doing so. I was later told this was 'water'. How they don't have sufficient coolant in labeled bottles at garage is beyond me 🤷🏼♀️ Anyhow, thanks to Trust Fords slack compliance with GDPR regulations, I was able to see on the cars dash system the name of the last victim. A quick flick through Trust Fords reviews, low and behold, she wrote a 1 star review on Trust Fords website - I put 2+2 together and clearly got 4. Even contacted her personally to confirm the car. Out of interest, I asked Brook; why did the previous owner want to get rid his words (she wanted something bigger) not that it spent more time in the garage and broke down. Long story short, I got my deposit back and even the £100 reservation fee. You do take your chances when buying a used car understandably, but are made to feel reassured that it will be tip top and can't do enough for you. They clearly hadn't bothered to top any coolant up before me driving away. Rob, used car manager was helpful in resolving the issue, but then again he had to be. I'm sure they deal with things like this a lot.
Fantastic friendly staff, very easy to get done what you need to. Very welcoming and clean. Went to organise my new Motability Car with Matthew, absolutely wonderful person who explained everything necessary and is an absolute credit to the company. Looking forward to March!
We bought a used Ford Kuga from TrustFord Castleford 10 days ago. The whole experience was a positive one. Danny from sales took us for a test derive, we decided to buy and he sorted everything out very efficiently. He also quickly remedied a small problem with tyre sensors by arranging for us to take the car in to servicing. This was quickly rectified. All in all Trust Ford live up to their name. I would recommend them.
