This gym has gone down hill since the year i started here 2024. It's overcrowded, often filled with groups of teenagers in brightly coloured shirts, which makes it feel chaotic rather than focused. There are simply too many members for the space, and getting a proper workout can be frustrating. The overall atmosphere doesn't seem geared towards people who are serious about training. I rarely see anyone working out with purpose, which makes it hard to stay motivated. If you're looking for a focused, dedicated gym environment, this probably isn't the place for you.
Not really one to go to the gym, certainly hadn't done much before. Have gone a few times now, mostly 1-2 times a week for a couple of hours at the time max— taking advantage of the "bring a friend" option, to go with my partner. As we work shifts, we find it easier to go at odd times during the day (using the app to estimate when it's going to be least busy— normally 1-3 PM on a weekday, or later in the afternoon on a weekend). So far never really had to wait much for equipment, or felt like it was oppressively busy. Most people attending seem normal, and no-one has bothered me/come up to me so far, or made me feel uncomfortable. Mainly I'd want staff to proactively, more often clean equipment— or give users a chance to pick up a cloth & spray bottle to clean equipment before/after use. When I have been there it seems mainly staffed by "gym-bros", so don't feel particularly comfortable approaching them for any advice, so just keep my workouts directed by the app/what I know. Been apprehensive about reviews regarding safety of belongings— especially as doors to the changing rooms are not locked, needing a code to access— so I only go in with keys/phone/headphones and water, which I keep with me at all times. Overall, would recommend, just even to give it a try.
First time goer at Puregym. Another boring franchised gym. Not enough equipment. Dystopian and sterile atmosphere. No hand soap! No cleaning stations to clean the equipment before and after I use them.
When classes start on the main floor the sound system competes against the rest of the music around the gym which is pretty hostile. Some of the machines seem badly maintained and potentially unstable. The entry is easy enough, never had a problem, bathrooms and lockers are as expected.
Pretty good gym, has all the equipment and space you need. Can get busy, checking the app for gym capacity is good
