Delicious food, especially the fish pie highly recommend! Lots of choice on the menu & empty plates all round. Beer garden out back is spacious. Dogs not allowed inside but welcome outside (water bowl out back).
My partner is working in Filey and I visit every week to see him, it is out of season and struggle where to eat. We went to The Star, my partner has eaten there a few times my first time was this evening. I have to say credit where credit is due the service from John was superb the food from chefs Martin and Gary I can honestly say was 5 star. I ordered Pan Seared Seabass served with garlic and chilli prawns on a bed of rice and seasonal vegetables………. Outstanding I asked for extra dressing the chef Martin came out personally and served me the oil who advised me it was made from home grown garlic that was dehydrated then made into the oil. I have eaten at some 5 star restaurants and this was just as good. My partner had Yorkshire Sausage and Yorkshire pudding served with homemade mash and seasonal vegetables, again outstanding. I would 💯 eat here again and recommend it to anyone Well done John, Martin and Gary thanks again we will be back
Very nice pub. Lovely food, wide selection of drinks. We've eaten here for Sunday lunch and in the evening before, but today was the first time just for a light lunch and it is a good option rather than a café. More choice, kids menu and you could have something larger if you don't want a light lunch (as my husband didn't 🤣)
Although it was evident this venue was very busy we were accommodated. Catering for this gentleman with complex dietary needs was not a problem for this incredible chef. Pureed meal presented so well. Thanks also to front of house and waiting staff. See you again some time
Fab pub and food. The crab and lobster starter was delicious. Great steak pie, Hunters Chicken was really tasty. Good beers and gins selection. Has a beer garden at the back. Can sit under shelter at front with dogs.
