Great place, Many years ago it had a swimming pool but unfortunately it’s gone. The stay city hotel connected to the venue is currently housing immigrants. I’ve seen many live bands, acts and sporting events in the venue and is the best the city has. Drinks are pricey so if you did want a few drinks go to the spoons down the road. Go every year for snooker and it’s good!
I went to York Barbican to see Riverdance and it was absolutely brilliant! The show was mesmerizing from start to finish. The venue itself was lovely, comfortable seating, good sound, and clear views of the stage from where we were sitting. A special mention goes to all the staff — they were fantastic! Friendly, helpful and welcoming, really added to the positive experience. Overall, a wonderful visit. I’d definitely come back for another show!
You know what I think this is a great snooker venue and venue in general, the staff are friendly and the food, while average at best is nice enough. It's a well organised site and the seating is good all around and no seats is a bad seat. I thoroughly enjoyed my snooker here
York Barbican. We went to the Barbican to see Cock Sparrer play and what a venue. The sound was brilliant, the staff were lovely, clean toilets and the bar had great options. Only downside was there was no cloakroom and the venue was “cashless” other than that a fab venue. Cannot wait to be back soon.
Great arena for snooker, views from wherever you’re sat are awesome can’t complain there… But food and drink prices are astronomic and the food is pretty poor. Also be prepared for parking costs,we paid £25 for just over 3 hours so I think next year I’d either go park n ride or take the train in.
