Sainsbury's Local

Very local to me. Obviously not as large a choice as the bigger shop that is on The Arndale ( or what is now known as Headingley Central, meh!). Prices are usually slightly more expensive as well. If you are doing a big shop then go to The Arndale with your online Nectar Card.

Come in most mornings for a few simple items. But my god, can the place get a happy transplant. Staff extremely miserable, tutting when someone needs assistance on self service. Huffing and puffing when they have to serve you at the till. The customer should not be treated as an inconvenience to you stacking shelves.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never in my life been targeted so heavily for the colour of my skin before than when I’ve just been in this store. I get followed around by security, spoken down to by an inept staff member - who called me a liar and smirking when trying to resolve a small issue. If you are black and are over 6ft - stay away from this place. Profiling at its best. Absolutely disgusting. I will never step foot in that store again, even if my life depended on it!

It's open late and it has fair stock. Gets slammed after the main Sainsbury's up the road closes but what can you expect in a student area. My family has never had any issue with the racial bias which appears in the other reviews. I hope that's not true. I have seen the security staff have to deal with some really abhorrent behaviour though. They did a fair job when I witnessed it though.

Never had a deliveroo order from these guys that's not got damage. They pack the silly little orange bags to the max crushing product
