Not the best but has potential. Positives - the evening receptionist was nice and helped me with the shower - the shower was nice albeit falling off the wall - fan provided - nice decor - the girl in the breakfast area made a nice coffee for me and the eggs on toast were ok, no butter however Negatives- to be improved - take £50 deposit from you on arrival- not sure when it will be back - my room was next to a boiler or something which kept making loud noises every 30 mins or so which resulted in bad sleep - couldn’t locate any fire exits on my floor/ not clearly labelled - stains on bed sheets and floor/ flat pillows (very uncomfy) Breakfast, where to start, a man walked out as they had nothing in the kitchen- no butter, no eggs. Luckily I got the last eggs. Orange juice warm. Continental breakfast, not good at all. The guy who was the chef, assuming he was the chef, needs to learn some customer service skills, I am not sure if he realised he was being rude or just requires some training. As he was part front house, it may be preferred by some customers that he is not in tracksuit bottoms and Nike trainers. A guy asked the young lad what they did have on the menu, and he seemed to have no idea- which lead to the customer storming out. The women with him had a similar attitude- and they both didn’t seem to want to be there at all/ lacked customer skills, you had to make a point to try get served yourself, they didn’t acknowledge you otherwise (no greetings when you walked in, just slight awkwardness of what am I meant to be doing). Some quoted comments from breakfast ‘can I have an egg’, boy replied ‘you can have 1 egg’, customer ‘I want 2 eggs’, boy ‘we only have 1’ - this is one of the 3/4 awkward conversations I witnessed😅 Apologies for the mixed feedback- but hopefully it can make the hotel better as I can see the potential ☺️
Not a big fan of my room, I was next door to the lift shaft which had a loud vibration noise each time it was used and I had a tiny window high up on the wall, the toiletries provided are high quality as are the items on the tea tray just be wary of the snack prices. If you want a traditional full English you'll need to go out of the hotel I went around to wetherspoons. The staff are friendly and helpful. Even with the lift noise I had a good night sleep I found the bed comfortable and the room was warm
At a glance, nice interior, it was very clean but the paintwork and some fittings were tired. I couldn't figure out how to divert the water from the fixed shower head to flexible shower head and didn't want to mess too much with it as the rail was loose on the wall. Although you the window blind could be slid away from the window, you couldn't rotate the vertical slats so they let quite a bit of light through. The worst part of the stay was the breakfast, only one guy doing the serving, cooking and making the tea, he did a good job but service was slow, the people who came in after us had to wait ages just for a hot because the guy was in the back cooking our breakfast. I had a " full English ", well I'm sorry but you don't have a beef or chicken sausage and vegetarian bacon on a full English. I don't think I would stay again, but if I did I wouldn't buy the breakfast.
Me and my husband went here for 1 night for his 30th birthday and it was amazing. The staff decorated the room with birthday balloons and banners which made his birthday extra special. The staff were lovely and very polite. The stay suite was beautiful in every single way, the shower was amazing and the bath was very lovely. I would be staying here again.
Stayed here for work, to my disappointment. Horrendous breakfast (not to any fault of the young lad making it), but to the owner for acquiring such horrendous meat. The place is an Indian themed hotel and it's evident from the awful decor to the really uncomfortable and lack of pillows. For them to label what they call a traditional breakfast is a complete joke "turkey bacon and chicken sausages", ridiculous. Avoid at all costs.
