About Field House Farm Cottage

Description

Field House Farm Cottage is a two storey building situated on a working farm, approximately a mile from the rural village of Hunmanby. The property boasts surrounding views of open countryside and welcomes well behaved pets. The accommodation consists of 1 double bedroom, a triple bunk room (dbl below, single on top), a landing area with a pull out double sofa bed, bathroom with shower over, hand basin and WC. On the ground floor there is a separate WC and hand basin, Kitchen, Utility and Lounge with a dining area.

With a light and spacious sitting room, it has a lovely, warming woodburning stove, ideal for cosy nights in, whilst the modern and well-equipped kitchen has a pleasant outlook to the garden.

This former farmhouse provides comfortable accommodation for families wanting peace and quiet, but within a few minutes’ drive of the popular seaside town of Filey, while the fishing town of Bridlington is a just a short drive South, and Scarborough approx 8 miles North.

The cottage is ideally located for walkers and cyclists as the Wolds Way is only half a mile away, with many other footpaths and trails nearby.  Dalby forest is located approximately a half hour car journey away and is packed with bike trails (bike hire available) walks, play areas, a visitor centre with cafe and other forest adventures for a fun packed day out.  The cottage has a large garden area ideal for children playing out or having a lazy summer evening barbeque.

Hunmanby  is a small rural village a mile from the cottage and has all the usual small village amenities, with a supermarket, chemist, newsagent, post office and Butcher shop, it has a well established fish and chip restaurant/takeaway and 4 pubs, one being The Piebald Inn, which specialises in a large variety of delicious pies and was the 2014 Olive pie pub winner.  There is also a train station with direct links to Filey, Scarborough, Bridlington, and Hull.

Filey is a small seaside town and lies approx. 3 miles east of Hunmanby, it has large sweeping sandy beaches and painted beach huts for a relaxing beach day, or for the more inquisitive why not walk along The famous Filey Brigg exploring its many rock pools along the way, then end you day with a fish and chip supper from one of the many cafes or takeaways. Filey is a perfect family day out.

With the Yorkshire Wolds on the doorstep of the cottage and the haunting town of Whitby with its links to Bram Stoker and Dracula, where you can visit the gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey, or The Captain Cook museum and learn how Cook set sail on The Endeavour to discover Australia, or maybe take a trip to the historic city of York, walk the City Walls, visit the museums and the Famous York Dungeons or just shop to your hearts content, Field House Farm Cottage is an ideal choice all year round for however you choose to spend your holiday.

While the cottage is in a tranquil location it is on a working farm and we respectfully request that children an animals are supervised at all times while on the farm.
