Once again we have loved our stay at the hideaway. We stayed in a hoglet house which we always enjoy. The owner Benny is a genuinely lovely and helpful guy, Marks pizza shack is 5 star, run by a proper chef and it shows with the quality of his food. All the staff are super friendly and approachable. Beth in the little shop answered all of our questions with a big smile and our children thought she was great. We will definitely be staying again soon. Thank you to all of the team down at the hideaway.
I chose The Hideaway as the perfect location to stay for a course I booked in a nearby village. We decided to make it a family occasion and invited our grown-up children to join us for one night. As we were a large party, I called and spoke to Barney who helped me choose the right pitches for our stay. Everyone commented on how clean and modern the facilities were. There were plenty of showers, private washbasins and even the rubbish and recycling were well thought out. Sadly, I didn't have enough time to explore all the goodies in the well-stocked camp shop. Abbie provided a bit of welcome pampering with her spa tent - my feet have never felt so good. The coffee and pizza offered by the Pizza Shack were delicious. My husband decided to forgo his steak in favour of a nduja and chorizo pizza. My feta and sweet onion pizza went down a treat. The friendliness of all the staff was reflected in the other campers, creating a warm, welcoming and safe atmosphere. The Hideaway@Baxby Manor is perfectly situated to explore many of the beautiful villages (and pubs) nearby. I look forward to more scenic bike rides and great coffee when we return.
Can't recommend this place enough. Just spent a lovely two nights in one of the Hoglet houses. The site is absolutely immaculate. There's everything you need on site. A small shop with all the essentials, a pizza hut that serves breakfast and coffees and amazing pizzas in the evenings. There's a pot wash area that also has communal fridges which is perfect for keeping the important things chilled (beer and wine). The toilets and showers were perfect. Ive never stayed any where that is so well maintained a d cleaned. Our little house had a small fire pit so we could enjoy the evening round the fire. Perfect for a little family break.
Had a very enjoyable 3 night stay in The Sanctuary - the adults only woodland camping pitches. Pitch was very spacious and we made good use of the barrows to take things to/from the car park. Not having cars by pitches really adds to the 'getting away from it all's feeling. The woodland pitches are very shady.... We didn't mind but did notice the other campers were enjoying sitting in sunshine but we hardly saw it all.... Mind you we made the most of our campfire and listening out for birds. The facilities were great....clean and very well managed and we loved the pizza and breakfast baps. Already looking forward to another visit.
A beautiful, well cared for retreat. Last time we used the campsite and the facilities surpassed our expectations. We're looking forward to visiting again in February to stay in the tree house!
