Absolutely brilliant 👏 Emma and I chose The Cow and Calf hotel as the venue to celebrate our anniversary We had a fabulous time in the superbly decorated and designed oldy worldy hotel/pub but what made us feel warm cosy and welcome were the amazing staff who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect in every way So A HUGE shout out to Charlotte, Izzie, Isaac, Ellie and Nick who all deserve a massive well done for everything they did. Nothing was too much bother and we will definitely be back. You make The Cow and Calf what it is and its you we will come back for not the bricks and mortar. The food was also fantastic, well presented and delicious. Plenty to eat, good portions and certainly empty plates after. Breakfast was also superb and enough to eat so that you only needed a snack for lunch Well done to everyome, thank you so much 5 big stars from us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What is says online.... In 1873 the building became a private residence called Highfield House, then in 1949 it became a boarding house. When visiting The Cow and Calf, look out for great views across Wharfedale and historic features, like the old Victorian well that still sits in the grounds. Our menus are full of hearty favourites and country pub classics, as well as our seasonal dishes, and we’ll be ready with a well-stocked bar, including cask ales, fine wines and British gin to suit very taste - which will taste all the better when enjoyed either in our beautiful gardens or by our crackling log fires.

Beautiful stay with my dog on way to Northumberland. The room was great and they gave the dog a bowl,biscuits and a little blanket - amazing touch. Lovely surroundings as well - took a walk on ilkley moor - brilliant stay - thank you

This was our third visit. This time to celebrate our birthdays on 18 & 19 January. We booked dinner on both evenings. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom with large shower, comfy bed with good quality linen. Excellent lighting and USB sockets appreciated. We suggest somewhere to put folding clothes, the shelves below the hanging rail are rather narrow. The bar is beautifully decorated and furnished with a log fire. Food was top notch. The staff are all efficient and friendly. My only other suggestion, as a person with mobility issues, I really struggled on the stairs. Additional hand rails should be installed in the sections where there is only one side, Otherwise a wonderful trip, thank you.

Our stay was amazing ! My fiancée commented that the cow and calf was easily the best hotel/ pub she had stayed in. The staff were attentive and really kind and friendly. The managers was fantastic and always acknowledged us in passing . You should pay yourself on the back for the food that your chef produces, it is amazing !! The rooms are all clean and fresh too. We will be returning very soon Thank you

We had a great stay and a great meal that evening. Can't fault anything. Lovely big spacious room with great views and a really comfortable bed. Fantastic meal in a lovely environment in the restaurant. And all of the staff we met were very helpful and friendly.
