Another top club site. Nice location, quiet and only 500yds from the Nidd Gorge. Met by friendly wardens, relatively quiet on my arrival. The facilities look like they have been renewed recently as they were immaculate. 2 toilet and shower blocks so always available. The Wanderer bar and restaurant is run by the club, I think that's the first time I've seen that on any site. Nice food available. Brilliant will come back here 👍

A nice campsite in Scotton, close to Knaresborugh. Nice pitches, and good facilities there are two blocks, one slightly newer than the other. The water is hot and pressure is good so what more could you want. There is a bike /dog washing area, a laundry and a cafe /bar on site too. In terms of location there is a pub just 10minutes down the road Guy Fawkes Inn although we chose to stay and have a nice pint on site at the Wanderers. The whole point of our trip is about walking, we like to leave our van on site and walk everywhere with our dog. The Nidd Gorge didn't disappoint, we had a lovely walk into Knaresborough across the Bridge. Another day we did a round route via Harrogate turning right over the bridge, and another day we went the other way towards Ripley along the river and old railway line, and a beautiful village and castle. It's a really lovely woodland in the Nidd Gorge but beware lots of notices asking you not to let your dog swim because of their flea and tick treatments especially if you use the drops or collars. We did a 19km walk taking in the Knaresborough Round Way and wasn't impressed. Some of the footpaths were awful, lots of broken and/or blocked styles,.and threatening notices about bulls in fields so watch out if you do this. But in general we loved it here at this campsite a nice area.

A lovely well kept site with the added bonus of a bar and place to get a small meal. Facilities on site were really good. The only thing I would say is the disabled toilet/shower needs some attention but it was perfectly adequate. Lovely dog walk on site as well. Really welcoming and friendly site team.

Lovely site just outside of Knaresborough town. Beautifully clean and maintained with several small areas for pitches, so it doesn’t seem too large. The licenced bar/cafe/takeaway is a great place for a drink, or a light meal. The only negative isn’t something the site can influence - if you approach from the Knaresborough direction there is a “pinch point” where it’s best not to go through if traffic is approaching from the opposite direction. That said, it didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the site and we will definitely return.

We have just returned from a two-night stay at the Knaresborough Caravan and Motorhome site, marking our third visit over the past few years. Historically, we’ve found the site to be exceptionally well maintained—spotlessly clean, with generously sized pitches, a pleasant dog walk, and a well-equipped play area for children. Its location is ideal for exploring Knaresborough and the surrounding area. One of the highlights remains the scenic riverside walk into Knaresborough, approximately 2.5 miles away. Visitors should be aware that certain sections of the route are steep and may require a moderate level of fitness. The on-site bar offers a welcoming atmosphere, though it’s worth noting that food service ends at 18:30. This can be inconvenient for guests arriving later in the day, particularly on Friday evenings. For alternative dining, the nearby Guy Fawkes Arms pub provides excellent food, albeit at a premium—most main courses exceed £20, starters over £10, and children’s meals over £12. Our first two visits to the site were thoroughly enjoyable, with a friendly atmosphere and plenty of other children for our daughters to play with. Staff were consistently courteous and helpful. Regrettably, our most recent experience did not meet the same standard. The site was nearly full but no other children present which was surprising. During our stay, our eldest daughter was reprimanded by a warden for riding her bike near the shower/toilet block. While we acknowledge that this area may not be suitable for cycling, the manner in which she was addressed—shouted at and told “You should know better!” even after apologising—was unnecessarily harsh and left her visibly upset. She did not ride her bike again for the remainder of our stay. If similar behaviour has been shown to other children then this may add to the lack of children on site. Additionally, I encountered a lack of warmth from another staff member when I asked for directions to the elsan point. The response was curt and unwelcoming, lacking even a basic greeting. On a more positive note, my wife was greeted by two friendly staff members at reception during check-in, which we appreciated. Overall, while the site continues to offer excellent facilities and a prime location, the change in atmosphere and disappointing customer service during our latest visit have led us to reconsider future stays. We do not anticipate returning in the near future.
