|Have you ever seen someone so funny on TikTok or Instagram that you wished you could see them live? Well, you’re in luck. Lorna Rose Treen, an award-winning comedian who has been all over the internet and the stage, is about to head out on her first-ever UK tour. After a string of completely sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, the acclaimed comedian is taking her best bits on the road with a brand new show called Now That’s What I Call Characters. This is a big moment for any comedian, and for Lorna, it’s a chance to bring her unique style of comedy to a wider audience. The debut tour is a collection of the very best sketches from her critically-acclaimed live shows, and she’s even throwing in some brilliant new characters for good measure.
So, what's the new show all about?
Imagine your favourite TV shows, films, and pop songs, but all twisted into something ridiculously funny. That’s what Lorna Rose Treen does best. Her new show is all about character comedy, which basically means she’s a master of disguise, transforming into all sorts of different people on stage. These aren't just any random people, though. Lorna’s characters are often a hilarious parody of the types of women seen on screen. She takes a look at everything from the mysterious world of Twin Peaks and the cheesy romance of Love Actually to the pop vibes of Sabrina Carpenter and the drama of Normal People. She invites the audience into a world filled with daft, surreal, and wonderfully whimsical characters.

It’s a full hour of silly, joyful, and clever nonsense that will have you laughing from start to finish. The whole show is directed by Jonathan Oldfield, her long-time collaborator, which means it's guaranteed to be slick and super funny. It’s the perfect comedy night out, whether you're a long-time fan of her work or just discovering this fantastic comedian for the first time. The new tour promises a parade of the best characters she has created.
Why is everyone talking about Lorna?
It feels like Lorna Rose Treen has burst onto the comedy scene, but she’s been working hard and winning a whole stack of awards for years. She’s not just funny; she's officially recognised as one of the best. After three sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, people are really starting to take notice. Her 2023 debut show, Skin Pigeon, was a massive hit. It sold out in just a week, got eight five-star reviews, and transferred to London's famous Soho Theatre twice because so many people wanted to see it. And if that wasn't enough, it also won Dave’s Best Joke of the Fringe award. That’s a huge deal in the comedy world! Her follow-up show, 24 Hour Diner People, was just as successful, selling out its entire 30-show run at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe. That show also moved to the Soho Theatre and was nominated for even more awards. The critics have consistently given her glowing reviews. Here are just some of the awards and nominations she's received:
- Comedians' Choice Awards Best Show 2025 - Nominee
- Chortle’s Best Alternative Act 2024 – Winner
- Channel 4 Sean Lock Award 2023 – Finalist
- Dave’s Best Joke of the Fringe 2023 – Winner
- Chortle’s Best Newcomer 2023 – Winner
- Funny Women Stage Award 2022 – Winner
- Funny Women Comedy Shorts Award 2022 – Winner
Not just on stage: the radio shows and viral fame
It’s not just in a dark theatre where you can find Lorna’s brilliant comedy. She's also a star on the radio and online. She co-created and stars in the acclaimed parody radio programme Time of the Week for BBC Radio 4. The show, which also stars Sian Clifford (you might know her from Fleabag), recently won British Comedy Guide’s Best Radio Sketch Show 2024 and has been nominated for another big award. This radio show is another example of her fantastic parody skills. And then there's her online presence. If you've been scrolling on social media, you’ve probably seen one of her videos. With over 180,000 followers on Instagram and 141,000 on TikTok, her viral parody street interviews and sketches have been viewed over 100 million times. She’s a proper internet sensation, and now she's bringing that viral energy to her live debut tour. This acclaimed comedian is a true multi-platform talent.
