Marchese Antinori Franciacorta Cuvée Royale, 75 cl

Superb 'traditional' fizz. Plenty of citrus flavours with lovely but refined bubbles means you get just as much taste as fizz (always a good sign!)The Antinori estate remains to be one of the oldest and most prestigious of wineries throughout Italy. Remarkably it is now the family's 26th generation that has taken over the reigns- there can be very few wineries in the World that can make that kind of claim. Probably most famous for their range of Chianti wines from Northern Italy which we showcase on the site, they also have well established wineries further South around Orvieto; more centrally near Montalcino and on the West Coast near Bolgheri.There is a subtle richness at play here to this traditional sparkling wine which definitely sits at a premium to Prosecco. Crisp apple and zingy lemon flavours lead the way. As ever the Antinori Estate has produced a sparkling wine well worth any celebration
