Rembrandt tulips are distinctive for having incredibly vibrant colour combinations made up of a base colour with contrasting flame-like flashes. The ancestors of these flamboyant tulips originated in Leiden, Holland, where Dutch tulip growing began. Now, you can grow Rembrandt tulips yourself with dazzling colours and large flowers, which are carried on strong, straight stems in April and May. They look quite unlike any other tulip and will set your spring garden alight with their bold blooms, and they are wonderful for cutting too, bringing fresh life to vase displays. Tulips are very easy to grow and care for and can be left in the ground after flowering as long as it is well-drained, so you will get another wonderful display the following year as they slowly naturalise and spread, or they can be dug up and stored over summer before replanting in the autumn.
