Adam Fenton aka Adam F is a multi genre artist, record producer, DJ, musician, singer & songwriter born in Liverpool who has earned 7 Gold and 4 Platinum certified awards under his belt. As a writer, producer and singer he has No. 1 Album in the USA Billboard chart, No. 1 in the UK national singles chart, won the MOBO best album award for his debut album Colours and was named by MTV in the Top 5 producers in the world. For an artist so prolific and collaborative it makes sense that Adam F is constantly in motion. In one sense that's literal: in person he's always animated, rarely seated, his speech a non stop flow of creative ideas. "No fixed mindset, no fixed anything," as he puts it. A soul-jazz musical virtuoso while still in childhood he went on to make enduring anthems of the early drum'n'bass and later in the hip hop scene in USA, working with some of the all-time greats of hip hop and reggae, with the likes of Wu Tang, Method Man, Missy Elliot, Redman, De La Soul, Rihanna, including producing LL Cool J's multi platinum first Billboard No 1 Album "G.O.A.T". In the UK Adam worked with the likes of David Bowie, The Prodigy and most recently produced BBC Artist Of The Year Pink Pantheress' viral sensation and breakthrough track 'Break It Off' a rework of his drum and bass anthem 'Circles'. As the co-founder of Breakbeat Kaos alongside DJ Fresh he launched several of the very biggest names in 21st century dance music acts like Pendulum, Nero, and Chase & Status. Adam has never been boxed in and has extended his work into soundtracks and acted in Hollywood movies alongside Christopher Lee and Richard E Grant. He may now be exploring his past work with the Colours Revisited album, but even the way he's done that is a creative leap into the unknown, and has provided the impetus for a whole new phase of work. One thing is for certain, he's still not done. In 1993 and '94, his tracks were picked up in the burgeoning jungle scene, with some of these early works now fetching high prices. Adam built up his studio and technique during this time. In 1995, as jungle evolved into drum'n'bass, his track "Circles" became an anthem, blending a Bob James sample with live musicianship and standout production. It captured the essence of 90s culture and rave's futurism, minus its blind optimism. Following "Circles," the darker "Metropolis" on Goldie's Metalheadz label became another drum'n'bass staple. From here on in, his already high velocity progression became a rocket ride. He was approached by no other than David Bowie to produce the track that became "Telling Lies": the first ever commercially downloadable mp3 single. In '97, the Colours album became one of the defining statements of drum'n'bass reaching maturity as a form, winning a MOBO award and generating two top 20 singles. And with big label backing, Adam transferred it to the live stage diving in at the deep end with a Glastonbury show with "16 people on stage like Earth, Wind & Fire - not because I wanted to be flash, but just because that's what I'd grown up on." In typically ambitious form, he decided to remake "Colours", not just as a quick cut and paste job but from the ground up with the original samples and instruments, plus the best session musicians, mixed in the best studios. The final part of the puzzle was taking on James Joseph, brother of the piano legend Julian Joseph, as management; this felt like a plugging into a deep well of musical and business brilliance. What has resulted is an album which deftly weaves together the energy of new live instrumentation with the 80's British electronica and jazz fusion inspired sounds of the original. The result is a project which not only brings the album into the glistening present but somehow manages to add further depth and sense of understanding of the original 'Colours'; the influences latent within it and how and why it has gone on to influence so many others throughout the world since its inception. This is an album which pays homage to what has become a cornerstone of British electronic music history and is symbolic of an artist once again channeling their creative determination and drive to reach new heights and lay the foundations for further greatness.
