Compact Lavatera Clementii 'Barnsley Baby' produces soft pink blooms from June to September and is an undemanding, pollinator-friendly choice for borders or containers. This fast-growing, fully hardy (H5) shrub prefers full sun and moist, well-drained, moderately fertile soil. For planting, dig a hole twice as deep and three times the rootball width, add soil improver if needed, place the plant level with the soil, firm in and water thoroughly; keep well watered and fed while it establishes and trim in summer if required. Low-maintenance and great as cut flowers, it provides long-lasting summer colour for small garden spaces.
