Art For The Afraid With Emma Burleigh Is A One-day Drawing Workshop On Saturday, 10th January 2026, 10am-4pm, At Jackson’s Attic Studio At Griffin Mill. Located At Thrupp, Near Stroud, In Gloucestershire, Griffin Mill Is An Atmospheric Converted Victorian Mill In The Heart Of The Stunning Cotswolds. All Abilities Welcome, Including Beginners. Everyone Can Learn To Draw. No Special Abilities Are Required. In This Drawing Workshop For Beginners, Emma Will Offer An Easeful, Enjoyable Method To Learn To Draw ‘things That Actually Look Like Things’, With Your Own Expressive Twist. Emma’s Teaching Methods Are Designed To Calm Down Your 'inner Critic' And Help You Enjoy Your Creativity Without Worrying So Much About Whether Your Drawing Is “good Enough”. There Will Be Guided Drawing Exercises To Gently Introduce You To The Fundamentals Of Drawing With Plenty Of Support To Build Your Confidence. All Are Welcome, And No Special ‘talent’ Whatsoever Is Required. Drawing Has Been Found To Have Tremendous Health Benefits; It Can Improve Your Memory, Enhance Your Communication Skills, Develop Your Coordination And Motor Skills, And Boost Your Happiness, Confidence And Problem-solving Abilities. So Why Not Come Along And Give It A Go? This Is A Drawing Workshop For Beginners Or Nervous Returners To Art. Recommended Equipment List: Art Materials Can Be Provided For Those Who Wish At A Small Extra Cost, Just Contact Emma To Arrange. Please Bring A Packed Lunch, Water And Snacks With You. Tea And Coffee Are Available In The Studio. Paper: Several Sheets Of Good Quality Cartridge Paper At A4 Or Larger, And Plenty Of Cheap Scrap Paper Such As A4 Printer Paper. Or Bring Along A Sketchbook, A4 Or Bigger. Drawing Materials: Charcoal, 2 Or 3 Pencils (ideally A B Or 2B And A 3B/4B/5B And/or A 6B), A Good Eraser And Sharpener, A Small Pot Of Drawing Ink (any Dark Colour, But If In Doubt, Black). Scissors And A Paintbrush, If You Happen To Have One, Would Be Useful. Please Bring A Packed Lunch, Water, And Snacks. Tea And Coffee Are Available In The Studio. She Is The Author Of Two Published Art Course Books: Soul Colour, A Watercolour Course To Cultivate Creativity And Mindfulness, And Earth Colour, A Mixed-media Course To Enhance Nature-connection. Emma Creates Large-scale Watercolour Paintings, Makes Zines And Comics, And Illustrates Books.
