Laphroaig Quarter Cask Whisky, 70 cl

This effervescent whiskey is aged for a short 5 years due to the maturation period being sped up by aging it in Laphroaig's quarter casks. The result is an avalanche of sweetness with significant chilli heat. The No 1 Islay malt in the UK and globally, Laphroaig is one of the most richly peated whiskies and the only single malt Scotch whisky to be awarded the Royal Warrant by HRH Prince of Wales. The original Laphroaig, distilled the same way today as when Ian Hunter invented it over 75 years ago. In making Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour. Those enjoying the 10 Year Old will first notice the bold, smoky taste, followed by a hint of seaweed and a surprising sweetness. This full-bodied variant is the foundation of all Laphroaig expressions and comes with a long finish. Sweetness in droves with a fiery kick
