One of our favourite pubs in the dales, Vera and her team are just superb. We had our christmas day dinner here and it was perfect! Not just today but everyday best lunchs and dinners and superb value everytime, its a must if in the area.
We booked ahead. I had high hopes for the food having read recent reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Literally the best lasagne I have ever eaten. Super tasty. Two of my company had the peri peri chicken and declared it delicious and the fourth member of our group had the chicken kebabs and loved them. The for of us shared two sticky toffee puddings, also delicious. Top marks for the food. Drinks are reasonably priced with plenty of choice and there's a comfortable atmosphere and setting with the seasonally obligatory open fire. We each had three alcoholic drinks and the total with food pre tip was £112. Great value. The owners are 'hands on' in front of house and kitchen. A great team. Sorely tempted to cancel tonight's booking elsewhere and come back to the Dante...
A fantastic, must go to traditional pub with amazing food. The best pub and restaurant in North Yorkshire. Fantastic atmosphere with a real open Wood fire. The owners and staff are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble.. They serve fantastic food and big portions too and real Ale. Highly recommended.
Absolutely the best food! Never had such wonderful and personal service. The atmosphere was great and the owners were the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet. Will definitely be back!
Staying in the village this week Mon - Fri went to this pub Tuesday and loved the atmosphere and look of the food so came back the next night after an excellent hike. The food was incredible, I had steak and chips, my wife had the lasagne, you can tell the owners really care about quality of ingredients as much as the cooking. The steak was perfection and I polished off my wife’s epic lasagne portion, and as someone proud of my own lasagne it blew my mind. Prices also so reasonable. Our dog got some good fuss from the owners too. We’ll likely be back there for our last night. Can’t recommend enough.
