Yet another 5 star review for Chadwick Guest House! Claudio is an ideal host and the prices are incredible. I offered him cash as that’s better for banking and the local economy. We had a very long journey from Dorset and he was happy to stay up late and check us in at 10.50 pm - we were upfront about this from the start and kept him apprised of timings along the way. Great location in central Middlesbrough. I didn’t feel this was an unsafe part of town and was happy to leave my brand new electric car charging from lampposts in the nearby streets. The Full English Breakfast was good for the price (I would have liked an extra sausage and some mushrooms but you can’t really complain at that price.) Nice shower room, lucky for us it was private use, as we were in the only room on the ground floor. The bed was comfy, not too soft, but the duvet was a little short for a 5 foot 10 man and barely covered the end of the bed; my feet got a little cold on the first night. Don’t know if it had been changed during the day but the second night I had one that seemed to be a bit longer fitting! Some reviews online imply the hotel only books adults. This is not true, it is a family friendly guest house and Claudio was happy to accept me and my son in a twin bedded room.

Second time staying here while on cycling trip. Claudio is a really great host...even offered to give my bike a quick clean. Guesthouse is spotless and cosy. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom and shower room also spotless. Breakfast cooked to order was great also. Definitely recommend and a real bargain compared to a couple of other places I stayed in nearby. Will be back in spring for another stay.

I booked my stay initially for one night for the 07/09/2025 while working in the Middlesbrough area and knew it may not be close or convenient (I use public transport) to the areas I needed to visit. The second night I opted to stay closer to where I needed to be and checked in to the Brass Castle Country House described has luxurious accommodation at £119.00 for one night which is disgustingly filthy and squalid accommodation. I returned to Chadwick Guesthouse for a further two night stay. Claudio is a welcoming host and cooks a lovely breakfast. The accommodation is inviting and spotlessly clean. The main road is a five minute walk where the local public buses are accessible making it convenient to travel around Middlesbrough. I am returning to Chadwick Guesthouse next week and would not stay any where else when I have to visit he area.

Very clean, spacious and well provided for rooms - downstairs twin has access to a private bathroom with shower across the hall. Lovely breakfast cooked to order, provided permits for street parking and all round helpful and welcoming service.

Excellent family owned B&B, on street parking is available but if parking required during week days you will need a permit which Chadwick will provide free of charge. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable with tea/coffee, tv and handbasin, separate toilet and shower rooms (2), breakfast is continental or cooked, owners are very pleasant and helpful, check from 3pm checkout 10am.
