Went to buy 1 item today and queued at the self service. There were 2 of the 3 tills available as someone had clearly walked out without paying and the red light was flashing, which was ignored by both the cashier and the manager. The cashier was talking loudly on his phone to his friend about his 'housemates at uni/ his ex girlfriend/ having a hangover'; this was via his headphones AND WHILST SERVING CUSTOMERS! Frankly, embarrasing for all as his voice was the only thing that carried. In the meantime, my queue was extending and when I got to the self service till, I find my item had no barcode. Having gone back to retrieve my purchase with a barcode, I then returned to find the queue even longer and the cashier man still talking loudly about his uni escapades and scanning at a leisurely pace. At one point, there was even an exchange between himself and the manager who completely ignored the fact that he was on his phone!! I felt for the people who were queueing for his till! After I had paid for 59p purchase of spring onions (yes, that is all I needed), I then heard the manager walk over to the till and say, "oh has someone not paid?" Not sure who she was talking to as her colleague was clearly not listening. Anyway, massively disappointed today, considering it was peak time (17.45) there was a complete disregard for the term 'customer service' and a total lack of care for everyone. The man behind the till clearly need to be trained and supervised.
Clean, tidy, well stocked but, as with most convenience stores, very expensive compared to likes of Lidl and Aldi. Is on number 2 bus route, but so are the Chapel Allerton Lidl & Aldi stores and car parking is better there.
Unclean and understaffed- last time I was there, a smashed beer bottle was left untouched on the floor for over 20 minutes right in front of the manned tills - bizzare
Convenient to get to compared to larger stores but not as much variety. Please note that prices are inflated for same item in larger stores but I guess you are paying for the convenience factor. Limited parking on site but lots of street parking around. Early opening and late closing as well as Argos collection. No public toilets but does have a small fresh bakery. More than happy to visit.
😡Not happy with the managers choice to increase the reduced prices which used to be 10p per item. A new manager told me it’s only 20p extra but that’s not the point, it’s that his boss said that they didn’t like the prices being cheap so they put the prices up and it adds up when purchasing a number of things. I have been shopping here for the past 5 years and always respect that they look after their customers and but if the prices don’t go back to 10p then il not come here again and go else where and not recommend others to shop here anymore. NOT RIGHT! BE FAIR TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!
