The Return of Britain’s Strongest Man to Sheffield

Sheffield get ready! Britain’s Strongest Man is back at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Saturday 01 February 2025. This year the competition is the first stop on the Giants Live World’s Strongest Man Arena Tour which visits six of the UK’s biggest arenas. Here are the 12 competitors for Britain’s Strongest Man 2025:

• Adam Bishop – the ultimate strongman veteran, he’s got endurance in his DNA.
• Andrew Flynn and Chris Beetham – two newbies looking to make an impact.
• Gavin Bilton – the fan favourite with the most strength.
• Graham Hicks – always a contender with big lifts.
• Kane Francis – one to watch as he climbs the ranks.
• Luke Richardson and Luke Stoltman – two old timers with raw strength and serious competition.
• Matt Dimond – agile and focused.
• Paddy Haynes and Sean Gillen – bringing the energy and drive.
• Shane Flowers – a big one.

This is a strong line up and the fans are in for a treat.

The strength challenges: What events are we seeing?

This year’s Britain’s Strongest Man has five classic and brutal events. Here are the details:

1. Log Press – Lift a massive heavy log overhead. Pure shoulder power and pressing strength.
2. Sandbag Steeplechase – New event where athletes run with heavy sandbags. Tests speed, balance and strength.
3. Duck Walk Into Farmer’s Walk – Two tough carrying events combined. Grip strength and full body endurance.
4. Deadlift Ladder – An escalating series of deadlifts getting heavier and heavier. Endurance is key.
5. Castle Stones – The final event where athletes lift and place massive stones on raised platforms. A fan favourite for its drama and difficulty.

Each event will push the athletes to the limit and the atmosphere will be electric.
