A much-loved Rotherham pub has thrown open its doors once again following an exciting six-figure refurbishment — and locals couldn’t be happier. The Three Horseshoes, a staple of Wickersley’s bustling Tanyard area, has officially reopened after a three-week closure, bringing with it not only a new look, but also a renewed sense of pride for its regulars.

The investment marks a major milestone in the pub’s history, blending modern touches with the traditional charm that has long made it a favourite with locals. As part of the refurbishment, the venue now boasts an increased capacity, brighter lighting, and updated carpets — all designed to enhance the customer experience while maintaining the character and warmth that regulars know and love.

The bar has received a sleek makeover, including a striking new back bar display to showcase the venue’s strong lineup of beers, wines, and spirits. Externally, the Three Horseshoes is now sporting a bold blue and white colour scheme, updated signage, and eye-catching festoon lighting — giving it standout curb appeal and a fresh contemporary feel.

General Manager Paul Corbett is thrilled with the results.

“I’m delighted to welcome everyone back to the Three Horseshoes following our brief closure. We’ve kept everything our guests know and love, while making thoughtful improvements where it was needed, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the difference. This refresh is all about enhancing the overall guest experience, and with how much the community loves the Three Horseshoes, we’re confident they’ll really appreciate the hard work that’s gone into the past few weeks.”

As well as two new local jobs, the refurbishment brings a renewed focus on entertainment and community. With Sky Sports and TNT Sports now available in HD, fans won’t miss a match, and the addition of a new pool table and two dartboards means there’s even more reason to stick around.

Pet owners will be pleased to know the pub remains dog-friendly — perfect for walkers exploring nearby trails who fancy a pint with their pup. Water bowls and treats are readily available behind the bar.

Known for its great value, the Three Horseshoes continues to offer a wide selection of beers, ciders, wines, and no- and low-alcohol options — all at some of the most competitive prices in the area.

To celebrate the grand reopening, the pub is hosting a Family Fun Day this Sunday, complete with a bouncy castle, face painting, entertainers, and plenty of fun for all ages. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend — and the perfect excuse to check out the new-look local.
