Welcome to Yorkshire
News • June 4th, 2025
|The smells of sizzling souvlaki, the sweetness of French crêpes, and the buzz of a Yorkshire town on the move — the Continental Street Market returns to Castleford from 12–15 June, and it’s bigger (and tastier) than ever.
For four flavour-packed days, Carlton Street in Castleford will transform into a bustling hub of international cuisine, artisan stalls, and good old-fashioned Yorkshire cheer. With over 25 traders from across the UK and beyond, visitors can expect a street food experience that rivals the best in Europe — right in the heart of West Yorkshire.
A Taste of the World on Yorkshire Soil
From Greek gyros to Asian noodles, Spanish churros to British classics, this market is a passport-free food adventure. And it’s not just about the bites — you’ll find handcrafted gifts, unique homewares, and delicacies you won’t find on any supermarket shelf.
Whether you're a curious foodie or just fancy a wander with a fresh crêpe in hand, this is a weekend not to miss.

Cllr Denise Jeffery, Leader of Wakefield Council, said:
“Castleford has always given the Continental Street Market a fantastic welcome, and we’re excited to see it return this summer. Markets like this help bring more people into our town centres, supporting local businesses while offering a vibrant shopping and dining experience. Whether you're trying something new or indulging in an old favourite, there’s something for everyone.”
Events like this are more than just tasty — they’re helping Castleford and neighbouring towns thrive by bringing in footfall, boosting local businesses, and offering residents something to look forward to.
