Welcome to Yorkshire

•In a heartfelt gesture, a team from a South Leeds garden centre has created a stunning floral tribute to celebrate the legacy of rugby league legend Rob Burrow. The tribute, crafted from Yorkshire-grown bedding plants, stands as a symbol of admiration and respect for Burrow's contributions both on and off the field.

Floral Tribute at Headingley
This week, Tingley Garden Centre's team planted a 7.4m² memorial tribute at Headingley. The display, composed of pansies grown by Dalby's in York, captures the essence of Burrow's spirit and dedication.
The Designer's Vision
Marc Salama, the Commercial Plant Manager at Yorkshire Garden Centres, designed the garden.
"We were honoured to be invited by Leeds Rhinos to be involved with this special floral tribute for a true Leeds legend who will always be in our hearts,"
Salama said. The selection of pansy flowers, known for their heart-shaped, overlapping petals that appear to be 'smiling,' symbolizes Burrow's enduring positivity and commitment to raising funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association despite his own diagnosis.
Community and Support
A spokesman from Leeds Rhinos expressed gratitude, stating,
"A big thank you to the team at Tingley Garden Centre for providing our grounds team with 1,500 plants for a new floral tribute to Rob Burrow in our memorial garden at AMT Headingley."
Yorkshire Garden Centres Family
Tingley Garden Centre is part of the Yorkshire Garden Centres family, which includes Tong, Tingley, Otley, and Bingley Garden Centres, as well as Dean's in York and Scarborough. This network of garden centres shares a common goal of fostering community and celebrating local heritage through horticulture.
Honouring Rob Burrow
Rob Burrow's legacy extends beyond his rugby achievements.
His unwavering spirit and charitable efforts, especially his work with the Motor Neurone Disease Association, have left an indelible mark on the community. The floral tribute at Headingley serves as a lasting reminder of his contributions and the inspiration he continues to provide.
