Martin Mansell to Cycle England's Perimeter in June 2026 for Charity Fundraising

Welcome to Yorkshire

Published on May 15th, 2026

In June 2026, Martin Mansell, the CEO of EnjoyTravel.com, will embark on an exciting journey as he attempts to cycle the full 2,000-mile perimeter of England. This ambitious challenge aims to set a new world record for the fastest time to complete the route, which is officially recognised by the World UltraCycling Association (WUCA). Starting and ending at the Humber Bridge in East Yorkshire, this journey will not only test Martin's endurance but also raise vital funds for two important charities.

Challenge Overview

Martin Mansell is no stranger to endurance challenges. His latest endeavour is the culmination of three years of pushing his physical limits. During this attempt, he will aim to cycle approximately 200 miles each day, for around ten consecutive days. The route will take him through various terrains, including hills, coastlines, and urban areas, making it a true test of stamina and determination.

Supporting Local Charities

The world record attempt is not just about cycling; it's also about making a difference. Martin aims to raise £50,000 for two Yorkshire-based charities:

  • The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, which provides expert care and support for individuals living with MND.

  • Yorkshire Children’s Charity, which assists children facing disability, illness, or hardship by providing essential equipment and emergency resources.

Charlotte Farrington, founder of the Yorkshire Children's Charity, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Every mile cycled will help us continue supporting children and young people across Yorkshire who are living with disability, illness or hardship, providing the essentials they need to feel safe, supported and able to thrive. We’ll be cheering Martin on every step of the way.”

The Route

The route for this monumental journey will take Martin along the entire English coastline, as well as the Welsh and Scottish borders. After departing from the Humber Bridge, he will cycle down the East Yorkshire and Norfolk coastlines, making his way to Dover, then following the southern edge of England to Land’s End in Cornwall. From there, he will continue north through the Severn Bridge in Bristol, Chester, and up to Whitehaven, which is the furthest westerly point, before reaching Carlisle in the north-west. The final stretch will take him along the Northumberland coast through Newcastle and back towards Hull, concluding back at the Humber Bridge.

Why This Matters

This challenge is significant not only for Martin but also for the communities benefiting from the funds raised. By cycling the perimeter of England, he hopes to inspire others to support local charities that make a real difference in people's lives. His dedication to these causes is evident in his words: “Riding for these incredible charities, and knowing the difference every mile will make to people’s lives, is what will carry me through the toughest moments.”
