Enjoying Onboard Amenities
Passengers who choose the Sleep Lounge will not miss out on the full range of onboard amenities. They can still enjoy access to restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and the World Duty Free shopping experience. This means that travellers can relax and enjoy their time on the ferry, whether they want to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping before arriving at their destination.
Flexible Travel Options
This new offering is designed to complement existing travel options, providing more flexibility for passengers. Alongside cabins, the Sleep Lounge allows travellers to select the type of accommodation that best suits their needs, whether they are heading off for a short break or starting a longer adventure in Europe.
Louisa Bell, Chief Commercial Officer for Passengers at P&O Ferries, expressed the company’s commitment to passenger choice: “Every journey is different, and we want customers to have the choice of options that work best for them. Whether they are travelling with friends, heading away for a short break or starting a longer trip into Europe, the Sleep Lounge is another way to make the crossing while experiencing the atmosphere and facilities that come with travelling by ferry.”
Affordability and Booking Details
For those interested in using the Sleep Lounge, fares for foot passengers start from just £47 per person for one-way travel during off-peak times between October and December. Passengers travelling by car can book a package that includes a car, one passenger, and a Sleep Recliner seat starting from £121 during selected periods. These competitive prices aim to make the journey accessible for a variety of travellers.
Why This Matters
The launch of the Sleep Lounge reflects P&O Ferries’ ongoing focus on improving the travel experience for its customers. By offering more choices and amenities, P&O Ferries is making overnight journeys more appealing and convenient. This is particularly relevant for those in Yorkshire and surrounding areas who frequently travel to mainland Europe for holidays, business, or family visits.
The Sleep Lounge is expected to attract a wide range of passengers, from families and friends on holiday to business travellers needing a restful night before important meetings. The addition of this facility not only enhances the ferry experience but also promotes travel across the North Sea, encouraging more people to explore the UK and Europe.
As the launch date approaches, many will be looking forward to experiencing the new Sleep Lounge for themselves. With its thoughtful design and additional amenities, P&O Ferries aims to make overnight crossings not just a necessity, but an enjoyable part of the journey. The new Sleep Lounge is a promising step towards making ferry travel more comfortable and appealing for everyone.
