After arriving at 6:50am (I didn't realise it didn't open til 7am). I was greeting at the front door by an employee who looked at me and said "never" that's it, after asking whats wrong, he looked and after a minute said "well we don't open til 7", it doesn't bother me but there was no professionalism at all. His shirt had several buttons undone and if I didn't know better I'd swear he was drunk. He was very confrontational the way he spoke and his body language. Please teach your staff manners, professionalism and a basic level of hygiene.
Went in this morning and Emily was so lovely and chatty towards me and my son and showed him how the drinks move forward. She’s a credit
Served by a new chap this afternoon and not impressed at all. I initially waited approx 15 seconds after the person before me left as he was texting someone on his own phone. Finally my turn. Never spoke at all nor any eye contact. Also he was dressed in black and not a uniform. Ok I suppose if he was new and hadn't recd it yet. However his character appeared more like someone out of prison on their first job than he did as a trained member of staff. He did not want to be there. He then scanned my goods, again saying nothing at all, before reading the total out. I wasn't asked if I had a card so I beeped it myself. Nothing came off so I asked him if he had to press something at his side. Answer, Bo, so you obviously haven't got anything with an offer on. I had as I get my dog food there. So I did it again. Nothing. And again. He simply said, 'just pay it'. Not impressed. I informed him again about the offer on dog food. He pressed a couple of buttons at his side and told me to try the card again. It worked!! So obviously he had not done something correctly. If I hadn't persisted knowing I was right I would have lost out. How many others had lost out like I nearly did. He wasn't fit to be left on his own. And he wants sending back on the Customer Care course. Appalling
It's very small with a limited range of products but has a decent free carpark
Co-op is my Go to Place whenever I need essentials. Our nearest is 2.5 miles away and we often walk the 5 mile round trip from home into Middleton-in-Teesdale. Best local shop ever.
