Pontefract Park

It's just a superb park for adults, kiddies & teens, it basically has everything you'd need, a racecourse which surrounds it for a fantastic walk with hidden water pools! It also is placed strategically aside a sports centre & shopping complex The playground area is immensely good, something in it for all ages The lake is superb for a few laps of jogging or a walk, inhabited by a large flock of geese &,ducks, just watch out for the large goose poops where they congregate! There's also an outdoor gym set to get in a work out after your stroll/jog There's always the same ice cream van selling delicious treats, and there's a cafe at the top of the racecourse too Plenty of parking at most times, except on race days when it gets unbearable haha! A superb day out that my kids love no matter how many times we've been! Highly recommended

Grand afternoon for a lap of the racecourse with the dogs. Plenty of footpaths to take you venturing through woods and fields. Beautiful lake to walk around with seating to watch the wildlife. Great park for the kids and ice-cream van which also serves hot and cold drinks.

A beautiful park with facilities but the car parking is a free for all. People parking wherever they like, making access extremely difficult. I appreciate one of the car parks is closed and has been for a while but it's absolutely ridiculous trying to get in or out with cars double parked or just dumped wherever there's a space . The council need to sort the unused car park pretty quick

Looking for a place walk and chill - this is perfect for you. I enjoyed it walking around the horse course. You should visit this place. There is a huge playground too. Pet friendly. Great place to spend family time.
