|Got any plans for summer 2026 yet? Well, you might want to keep a couple of dates free. The indie-pop legends Bastille have just announced they’re heading up to Yorkshire for two massive headline shows. After a bit of a break from playing live, the band is back and ready to light up the stage. If you've been waiting to sing along to 'Pompeii' at the top of your lungs, your chance is coming.

Yorkshire, get ready! Bastille is coming
Mark your calendars. The four-piece, fronted by the unmistakable voice of Dan Smith, is set to play two special outdoor gigs. First up, they’ll be taking over the TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Saturday, 11th July 2026. Imagine hearing their epic tunes with the sea air in the background – pretty cool, right? After that, they’ll make their way over to Halifax to headline Live at The Piece Hall on Friday, 28th August 2026. That’s another stunning and unique venue for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music.
For anyone eager to get tickets, they go on sale at 10 am on Friday via Ticketmaster. It’s probably a good idea to be ready, as these shows are likely to sell out fast. These aren't just any shows; they're a chance to see one of Britain's biggest bands in two of Yorkshire's best venues.
More than just a gig
This news comes hot on the heels of Bastille’s recent 'From All Sides' tour, which saw them return to the stage after a two-year break. They played sold-out arenas across the UK, reminding everyone just why they’re so loved. The tour wasn’t just about looking back at their amazing career; it was also about what’s next. They even dropped their first new original song in three years, 'SAVE MY SOUL', giving fans a taste of their next chapter.
Let's be honest, the numbers are pretty staggering. With over 13 million records sold, three UK No.1 albums, and billions of streams, Bastille are a proper global sensation. Their cinematic style of songwriting connects with people everywhere, from local fans to listeners across Europe. Their music has become the soundtrack for a generation, and these upcoming live shows are a celebration of that journey.
From Bad Blood to global domination
Remember when 'Pompeii' was everywhere? It all started with their incredible debut album, Bad Blood. That record was the biggest-selling digital album of 2013 and turned Bastille into a household name. It even earned them a BRIT Award for British Breakthrough Act and a couple of GRAMMY nominations. Not a bad start, eh?
They didn’t stop there. More number one albums followed with 'Wild World' and 'Give Me The Future'. And who could forget their collaboration with Marshmello on 'Happier', a track that has been streamed over seven billion times? Last year, they celebrated the 10th anniversary of Bad Blood with a special re-release and a series of sold-out shows and festivals. They even teamed up with the legendary film composer Hans Zimmer for a new version of 'Pompeii' for the BBC's Planet Earth III. Talk about iconic.
Who's joining the party?
A great headliner deserves great support, and these Yorkshire shows have delivered. In Scarborough, Bastille will be joined by Nectar Woode. She’s a rising British-Ghanaian soul star who Elton John once compared to Nina Simone – high praise indeed! Her music is a beautiful mix of soul, folk, and jazz, and she’s already supported huge artists like Norah Jones and Leon Bridges. Get ready to be captivated by her unique sound.
Over in Halifax, the special guest will be Carpetman. He's a young Ukrainian musician known for performing with a signature carpet mask covering his face. His music is a boundary-pushing blend of house and blues, creating something truly different. With nearly 40 million streams already under his belt, Carpetman is one of the most exciting new artists around.

What the organisers are saying
The people putting on these massive events are just as excited as the fans. Julian Murray, from the promoters Cuffe and Taylor, is thrilled to bring the band back to the coast.
“Bastille have been such an influential band – their recent tour was an amazing celebration of 15 years together. It’s fantastic to be bringing their powerful and distinctive music back to Scarborough – after their brilliant headline show here in 2018. This will undoubtedly be a real highlight of the summer on the Yorkshire coast.”
Nicky Chance-Thompson, CEO of The Piece Hall Charitable Trust, echoed that sentiment for the Halifax show.
“Hot off the back of an arena tour it’s a major coup to get a band of this calibre to Halifax. Indie anthems really don’t come much bigger and better than theirs, and I know they’ll bring an exceptional atmosphere to our award-winning venue. This show will lift our hearts and voices, and seeing The Courtyard come together for some epic musical moments will be incredibly special.”
A summer of massive music
These Bastille gigs are part of an incredible line-up of summer music events across Yorkshire. Both the Scarborough Open Air Theatre and The Piece Hall are hosting some of the biggest names in music. These promoters are used to handling huge artists from every genre, having worked with everyone from Diana Ross to Rod Stewart, and even icons like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Bryan Adams.
