Been using this car park for over 2yrs now and never noticed any signs about how long you can park for. I have a Blue Badge and used a disabled bay. Went for food, shopping in Poundland, Bon Marche and Sainsburys. Apparently I went over the 3hrs allocated with BB by just 8mins and 19 seconds and now have a fine of £60 to pay. Sorry me & my 2 disabled passengers couldn't walk any faster, speed up our food or shopping. Spent a lot of money while we were there. Daylight robbery!!!
It's a shame the ANPR system gets you if you stay 10 minutes over but they don't do anything about this terrible parking. 💩
2 hours max but I know a lot of local people who got fined for staying less than this and returning later the same day to pop into supermarket or shops for 10 minutes. CCTV system says you were there all day when you weren't.
Recently moved to area. Time in this car park really needs increasing to 2.5-3 hours. It’s not long enough at 2 hours to park up, shop and grab a coffee so won’t be returning again
No wonder local businesses are struggling in Selby. £100 charge parking after 6pm when the car park was all but empty. Simply a cash cow and short term thinking. Won’t be either shopping or socialising in Selby again so enjoy the £100 quid because it’s the last you’ll get.
