We popped in for a last‑minute appointment on New Year’s Eve, fully expecting to be turned away, but one of the barbers (Losif) was just finishing his last client and still managed to fit us in. He was incredibly friendly and did a brilliant job cutting my boyfriend’s hair. While we were there, I loved watching the rest of the team work. One barber had a little boy giggling through his haircut, and another was carefully cutting a guy’s super long, curly hair. You can really see how much time and attention they give to every single customer. The whole atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. These guys clearly care about what they do. Highly recommend them.

Booked in for the first time today. As I’m unfamiliar with the area, admittedly I ran into some traffic and arrived at my appointment 10 minutes late. For context, I’m a student looking for a last minute hair cut before my birthday this weekend. I originally booked this place due to the overwhelming positive feedback they receive and drove 40 minutes with the hope of a quality haircut. I unfortunately was met quite bluntly by many barbers sat around chatting. I was quickly told by Scott that there was no way I could be fit in even though I was happy to wait and they were completely booked out despite there not being a single customer in the shop. These appointments are obviously pre booked and paid for - this is the first time I’ve attempted to use a service that isn’t walk-in. I paid £24 and drove over an hour and a half for refusal of a service I’d paid for and no offer of a refund.

First time going to Blak Bear Selby and must admit appointments are better. I had a 10am appointment with Iosif and he took his time instead of rushing to get to the next client. The staff were pleasent and welcoming and I will definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you Iosif, and good luck in your new ventures.

Amazing for children. My son has autism and really hates getting his hair cut. They have a PlayStation here and drinks and my son could play while having his hair cut. And so friendly too. Would highly recommend

The service here (Selby) is consistently top-notch, and the attention to detail is second to none. A big shoutout to Kasey, who always takes the time to make sure every trim is just right. You can really tell he cares about his craft—never rushing, always making sure you leave looking sharp and feeling confident. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a quality cut and great atmosphere!
