Very pleasant. You could buy beds! Egyptian cotton sheets for sale. Very pleasant browsing. Overlooked by the Abbey. Nicely bustling town.

For a historical market town I've seen more stalls at a house garage sale, the council should be ashamed, both ilkley and Otley are 100% better

Selby market day is a Monday. It's famous for its bank holiday specials which are well worth visiting. There are also special evening markets and Saturday farmers market too. It's set on the old market place in front of Selby Abbey but can spill out into adjoining roads. The normal weekly market on a Monday is much smaller. It's worth visiting the abbey when you're in town.
